Re:Imagine
Can two local waste streams become one useful product?
Visit project websiteIn brief
Re:Imagine began with a local mismatch: nature centers needed to remove invasive plants, while restaurants were throwing away food scraps. We explored whether those two waste streams could be combined into an eco-friendly herbicide—and built the partnerships, testing, and public-facing work needed to move the idea beyond a science project.

What I do
- 01Partnered with nature centers and restaurants to collect invasive biomass and food waste.
- 02Helped develop, test, and communicate the product concept across scientific and community audiences.
- 03Led outreach and fundraising that brought in more than $11,000 to continue the work.
Key finding
3+ tons of invasive species removed · 0.5+ tons of food waste upcycled · $11K+ raised
