Client Web Development

How do you translate someone else’s work into a digital system they can actually use?

I designed and developed two full-stack websites for clients with very different needs: an environmental volunteer organization and a journalist and content strategist. I was not part of either client’s underlying work—my role was to understand it, structure it, and build the digital experience around it.

01Hiking Heroes NJ: a visual system built around the organization’s fieldwork and community identity.

02The event archive turns ongoing fieldwork into a browsable record of the organization’s activity.

03Being Sarah Kim LLC: an editorial portfolio spanning journalism, strategy, disability advocacy, and speaking.
Searchable Being Sarah Kim LLC journalism archive with a topic filter and article cards
04A searchable, filterable archive for a large body of published journalism.
Custom content administration portal listing editable website sections
05The client-facing admin portal: page content, labels, media, and SEO remain editable after handoff.

Hiking Heroes New Jersey

A public-facing home for a student-led environmental volunteer organization.

Designed and built the complete responsive site, including its mission, team, events, bulletin, photo archive, and contact experience. A custom Sanity portal lets the team manage every page and its SEO after handoff.

Being Sarah Kim LLC

A professional platform for a disability journalist, content strategist, sensitivity reader, and speaker.

Translated a multidisciplinary practice into a clear site architecture; added client-requested accessibility controls; and built a searchable, filterable journalism archive. Sarah can add articles through a Google Sheet, while Sanity gives her control over the rest of the site and its SEO.

  1. 01Led client conversations to understand goals, audiences, content priorities, and what each person needed to update after launch.
  2. 02Owned the UI/UX process from information architecture and page flows through visual design, responsive behavior, accessibility, and implementation.
  3. 03Built both sites with custom Sanity admin portals, allowing each client to edit every page and its SEO content without returning to a developer. For Being Sarah Kim LLC, I also connected the article archive to Google Sheets so new entries publish into the searchable archive automatically.
